When my Kona bike was stollen in London I was limited to use my old Wheeler, and while it is a great bike for the road it’s not great for the trails and downhills.
The max spend using cycle scheme vouchers is 1000 pounds so after a lot of research, I decided to buy the Roscoe 8 from Trek.
This is a new model from Trek that was done specifically for trail riding, I think it offers great value for the money you pay.
You get an awesome aluminium frame, a 120mm Rockshock air suspension, fat tires, a dropper post and a SRAM NX derraileur.
Today I finally got some free time to do a test ride and I was really impressed with it, the fat tires work like a mini suspension on hard rocky surfaces, and they offer amazing grip going up and down.
The suspension works great and it’s easy to adjust to your weight and bounce preference.
My only complaint is that the dropper post actuator is not great to use while you in the middle of a descent, you better set it before you start or else it’s tricky to make it go down.
All in all ,it’s great fun to ride this bike, and I hope to have a lot of opportunities to take it to the trails!
